The Truth About CBD, THC, and Essential Oils

Some Much Needed Truth and Facts Regarding CBD and THC

First, I want to thank you for joining me on YouTube spending some time learning the science and facts regarding the popular and ever-growing market of CBD and THC in the U.S.

It is so critically important for our society to understand the science behind exactly how CBD and THC effects the human body due to the the fact that the use of both of these products is growing at a dangerously rapid rate.  I say dangerous for two reasons:  there remains a large amount of information that science still does NOT know in regards to CBD, THC, and the long term effects on the human body, and the science that is known, is NOT being weighed by the public at large.

Why is this a problem?  In order to explain this, you must first understand that chemical compunds will always have a chemical impact on the body...always.  The only question is whether the impact will be positive or negative.  So, let's revisit some of what we discussed in the video:  CBD and THC are compounds called Cannabinoids.  Cannabinoids are compounds that interact with Endocannbinoid Receptors to directly effect the Endocannabinoid System in the body.  Endocannabinoid Receptors are found in the brain, vital organs, and connective tissue, which means they are located throughout the body.  Their role is to maintain the stability of the body's internal processes while dealing with fluctuations in the external environment.  These receptors influence the following functions in your body:  immune response, memory, inflammatory response, and appetite.  Because so much of your health is tied directly to your immune system, you can see why it is important for Endocannabinoid Receptors in the body to be properly functioning.   This means it is imperative that we KNOW the substances that are having an impact on these receptors, to make sure that the impact is positive and not negative.

Although scientists believe there may be several different types of cannibinoid receptors in the body, they have currently identified two subtypes:  CB1 and CB2.  CB1 is expressed mainly on nerve cells in the brain, and CB2 is expressed mainly on white blood cells and the immune system.

Research shows that activating the CB1 receptor influences memory processing, pain regulation, AND also induces a psychoactive effect.  Research also shows that CB2 receptors support a healthy nervous system, proper immune function, and have soothing/relaxing properties on the body (primarily through their ability to regualte inflammation).  So, the key to regulating pain as well as eradicating inflammation while propping up the immune system is to find something that is safe and effective on both CB1 and CB2 receptors without psychoactive effects.

This is where it gets messy.  Here's why:  There is a large amount of scientific research that shows that CBD has very little effect on CB1 receptors, but does positively impact CB2 receptors, which is why it doesn't have a psychoactive effect.  This part is good news. THC, however, IS what causes the psychoactive effect (because it directly impacts the CB1 receptors), and that is why THC is illegal in most states (outside of highly regulated medicinal uses in some states).  Here is what is important to note:  CBD is NOT really effective apart from THC. THC is illegal due to its' psychoactive effects on the brain, and MOST CBD on the market has THC in it in order to be effective for pain at all. Why, you may ask?  Because CBD does not effect the endocannibinoid receptor (CB1) that controls pain management, and pain management is one of the main reasons people seek the use of Cannabis. While THC directly effects CB1 receptors without having any effect on CB2 receptors, which are the receptors that need to be effected in order to correct inflammation, the immune system, and bring soothing relief to the body.

So, what does all of this mean for you?  From a scientific standpoint, this information means that Cannabis is not the best or, in my opinion, msot importantly, a safe way to deal with pain or inflammation in the body.  However, don't lose heart...because I do have a scientifically proven and sound alternative for you that has been used in traditional health practices sine the 16th Century.  Are you ready?

My recommendation for a compund that has the greatest effect on the Endocannbinoid System in the body in a positive way is an essential oil named Copaiba.  Why this essential oil?  Well, it has the highest known amounts of a compound called BCP (Beta-Caryo-Phyllene).  BCP comes from a tree in the rainforest of Brazil.  It has Cannabinoid-like properties.  Here's the real kicker- BCP directly targets the body's CB2 receptors, while ignoring CB1 receptors.  This means you can deliver major benefits without the high!  Now, you might be saying, "How can it help me with pain, if it doesn't target CB1 receptors that deal with pain management?  Good question.  Let me explain why.  Remember when I told you that CB2 receptors directly impact immune function, help regulate a healthy nervous system, AND have soothing/relaxing abilities on the body?  This is why you want to target these receptors over CB1 receptors.  Because in order to correct or eliminate the issue in the body (which should be the goal of anyone trying to find relief from pain or an illness), you must get rid of inflammation (the main cause of most disease/illnesses in the body) and reboot the immune system.  That's what targeting CB2 receptors does!  As a matter of fact, BCP is 85% more effective on CB2 receptors than CBD!   You see, one of the most powerful things about pure, certified, therapeutic grade essential oils is that because the body recognizes them as safe, they are able to immediately get into the bloodstream and go to work.  This means you get almost instantaneous effects (within 30 seconds)!  So, as inflammation starts going down (which by the way is the main cause of pain), pain starts being alleviated.  You get relief from pain, while your body begins to correct and heal the immune system.  It's a win-win!

Copaiba is a safe, effective, and even affordable alternative to Cannabis.

But, I must tell you something important...

WARNING!

The quality and type of essential oil is critical to assess.  While essential oils can provide phenemenol results for us, wrong or low-quality oils can potentially hurt you, or provide no benefit at all.

Hence the reason I am highly motivated to share my knowledge on this subject so that you can experience a life filled with optimal health, happiness, and relief!  This is why there is only ONE company (at this point in time) I can confidently recommend for essential oils, and that company is doTerra.

Here is a link to a website that will show you WHY I recommend them...they have the most solid scientific team and practice in place compared to ANY OTHER company producing/selling essential oils today!
